Microsoft has changed the way it manages Windows licenses and has improved. Windows product key is an important asset that you need to have whether you want your Windows 10 licenses to be reinstalled or transferred to a new device.
That’s easier than it sounds, because there’s no way to see your product key in Windows 10, so finding a product key record can vary depending on how you got Windows to start with.

How To Find your Windows 10 Product Key?

#1Via CMD

  • Click start type in cmd then right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  • Once prompted type wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey and hit enter.
  • Your windows 10 product key will now be shown.

#2OEM Product Key

Most computers come with an OEM Brand Key. When you want to re-install Windows 10, this license key can be reused. Typically an OEM brand key is written on a label attached to your machine’s base. The mark of OEM is going to look like the one below.
Note: If you have a laptop you may need to remove the cover for this label to be placed.
